Bridget Hankes-Ixpata became the principal of Autumn Creek Elementary School in July of 2024.  

Before becoming principal at Autumn Creek, Bridget was an assistant principal for 3 years in Oswego SD308.  Her previous experience includes 21 years of teaching in Wheaton-Warrenville CUSD200 in both 4th grade and kindergarten. She began her career as a Bilingual Title 1 teacher in East Aurora District 131. All of her experiences in education have been at the elementary level.

Bridget received her undergraduate degree in English Literature and Hispanic Studies from Northwestern University. She has 2 graduate degrees from Aurora University, a Masters of Arts in Teaching with Certification and a Masters of Educational Leadership. Her Bilingual and ESL endorsement is from National Louis University. Bridget is thrilled to join the Yorkville community and serve our students and families.

She enjoys watching kids learn and grow and thinks kids are really funny! Bridget’s kids are all grown up. Her son serves in the US Air Force, and her daughter attends DePaul University in Chicago. You might find Bridget on the bike trail with her husband, at the gym, or reading a book on her back porch when not at school.
